A real ‘we have The Fly at home’ sorta deal. A shame they had to cut the best scenes so it could be released locally. 3.5 Stars.

A humanoid woman raises her arm, in an effort to shield her face in darkness, light highlighting the grotesqueness of her true form. She has a sense of humanity about her that lingers in the way her brown hair naturally flows past her right ear and the deep blue eye peeking out from behind a pair of simple black framed glasses. Unfortunately the evolution of flesh into a bulky mess of bloody mandibles, mangled teeth surrounding pincers, a large boil-like eye and 3 growths replicating antenna has rendered her truly quite horrific to society. In the reflection of her glasses a man is screaming in fear as if he is witnessing the sight of her for the first time. Below the woman is a bold red title that is illustrated to look like the legs a mantis would have, it reads “MANTIS”. Next to the woman is a tag-line in bold black text that reads “She'll eat you alive.” In the top corner of the poster is text that reads “Dana Ridley [and] Sam Macready” “A monster closet films production” Sarah Ireland's ‘Mantis’” Just underneath this text is a film rating that says “R - Restricted under 17 requires parent or guardian to accompany.
